Scripps researcher establishes endowment
Devendra Lal first visited Scripps Institution of Oceanography
at UC San Diego as a post-doc in 1958. Now, after nearly 50
years of contributing to basic research at Scripps, he's making
a different kind of contribution to the institution - a donation
of $500,000.

City, Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego
climate scientist Richard Somerville was one of six
participants who took on the question.
Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UC San Diego has been
ranked eleventh best in North America and fourth best on the
West Coast in ̉Best Places to Work for Postdocs" survey
recently released by The Scientist magazine.
